EASTERN REGION RINGETTE
ASSOCIATION GUIDELINES ON RECRUITING OF PLAYERS
Player
recruiting will NOT be tolerated in the Eastern Region.
Coaches and players or parents may
not directly interact to recruit players for teams in the
Eastern Region. Discussions between communities on transfers of
players may only be done on a President to President level. If
a player or the player's parent wishes to have the player tryout
for another association they MUST approach their own Association
President for permission to arrange the tryout. Completion of
the ORA Tryout/Release Form M-F-07 will be accepted as having
met that condition. If a coach wishes to make contact with a player
to play in the coach's community, the coach must contact his/her
own Association President to approach the player's Association
President with the request. If the player's Association President
does not contact the player or player's parents in a timely fashion
(48 hours) the Regional Chair may be requested to intervene.
The Tryout/Release form M-F-07, ORA
Appendix, must be signed for each association that the player
will be attending tryouts with. Players/parents that do not comply
with these two requirements may be denied release by the region.
ORA has a policiy that a player may
only be transfered to the Closest Association that has the level
of play the player aspires to. The ERRA provides a policy regarding
what constitutes a Closest (or Neighbouring) Community for the
purpose of Player Transfers.
Eastern
Region Policy - Closest (Neighbouring) Association
(ERRA Regional Two Year Pilot Policy )
From time to time in the past, players,
parents and/or coaches have approached each other regarding tryouts
or playing for a given Association. This is NOT allowed.
There must be no direct contact between coaches, players or
parents until proper documentation has been provided.
Action to be taken should a coach approach or be approached by
a player or parent to play for that coach's team.
If the coach is approached by a player
or parent they must immediately tell them that they may not discuss
transfers or tryouts and direct them to their Association President
to arrange the proper paperwork. The coach should immediately
contact his/her own Association President to report the contact
and details of the conversation.
If a player or parent is approached
directly by a coach, they should tell the coach they may not discuss
transfers or tryouts and ask the coach to have his Association
President contact their Association President. the Player or Parent
should immediately contact their own Association President to
report the contact and details of the conversation.
A disciplinary hearing will result
if the above policy is not followed.
