Eastern Region AAA Team
The
Eastern Region AAA Team
won the Gold Medal
at the Ontario Winter Games in Muskoka 4-7 March.

They
won two relatively easy games in Round Robin
play and three tough games getting them ready
for the Medal Round. Our Eastern Region athletes
lost
their first game 4-1 against a very hard working
Southern Ontario team, then settled down to
win 4
in a row in the round robin. They soundly defeated
Central Region and Northeasten Region with identical
8 - 1 scores along with two highly competitive
wins,
of 5-4 and 5-3 victories over over
the North West and Western Regions. They ended
the first round of play in a tie for first with
the North West, being placed first by virtue
of their 5-4 victory in the round robin. This
guaranteed the young ladies a Gold or Silver
medal as they went directly to the Championship
Game. Northwest came out the winner of a 4-3
victory in the Semi-final game.
The
Final did not disappoint the fans. Eastern won
the Gold Medal with a hard fought 3 - 1 victory
in the Championship Game.

The
Eastern Region Ringette Association is proud to announce
the players and bench staff selected for the 2009-2010
Regional All-star Team (AAA) team.
The AAA team will compete in 3 challenge cup tournaments
over the playing season and will end the year with their
participation in the Ontario Winter Games. The 2010
Ontario Winter Games will be held March 4-7 in the Muskoka
region.
The ERRA would like to thank all players who tried out
for this year's AAA team. It is clear, as displayed
during the tryouts, that our region has a rich and talented
pool of ringette players to draw from and it is expected
that this year's ERRA AAA team will once again be very
competitive group.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to all
of the volunteers who assisted during the tryout process,
including a significant number of independent evaluators
who provided excellent and insightful information over
a very long and busy weekend. The time commitment was
very significant and it is very much appreciated.
Congratulations and good luck to all players and coaches!

Eastern Region Players
Named to the Northwest
Composite AAA Team 2009 - 2010
|
This
year the Northwest Ontario Region does not have enough
players to field their own AAA ringette team. Ontario
Ringette has decided to form a Northwest Composite AAA
team. This team is composed of a few players from the
Northwest region and the rest of the players for this
year's team come from 4 of other 5 regions in Ontario
. To be eligible for this team, players must have tried
out for the AAA team in their home region and not been
selected.
Tryouts for the Northwest
Composite Team were held in Ajax July 4th and 5th. 42
skaters and 8 goalies from across the province participated
in the tryouts.
3 players from Eastern
Region were named to the team and another 3 players
were named as alternates.
