Tryouts began in Carleton Place on Sat. May 12/01 and Sun. May 13/01. 92 Players attended Tryouts. Because of the large number of athletes, not everybody was on the ice at the same time. Each Player was allocated 4 Tryout Times (2 each day) in 12 separate sessions. 45 Players were selected for the final tryouts, August 11th & 12th in Stittsville, where they underwent an additional 7 separate ice sessions of which 4 were Games. The Goalies encountered an addition two ice times beyond those of the other players. Wow!

Head Coach Lary Allen, along with Team Coaches Bill Hubbs, Lyndsay Wheelans and Dave Shoobert, Team Manager Grace Kelly have finished planning the format of this final round of tryouts. Final team selection will be determined after these tryouts in August.
The Eastern Region Ringette Association team will be made of of players born in 1984 or later (85, 86 etc). (FIRST YEAR BELLES (this season just finished 2000/2001) & younger). They will compete against the other regions across Ontario during the season and will enter the competition at the Ontario Winter Games in Guelph, March 7-10, 2002. There will be a Canada Winter Games in 2003 and a team of players across Ontario will be chosen from those players who are on the 2001-02 regional AAA teams.
Please Note: A PLAYER WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR TEAM ONTARIO UNLESS SHE PARTICIPATES AT THE REGIONAL TEAM AAA LEVEL.
Players for Team Ontario for the 2003 Canada Winter Games
will be selected from the 2001/2002 Regional AAA Teams.

Each Region's AAA Coaching Staff will be responsible to place 5 players into the Team Ontario Selection Camp scheduled for July 2002. Along with 15 selections from the Team Ontario Coaching Staff, Team Ontario will be selected from these 40-45 girls.
