Pilot Program - new format for NCRRL Championships
(B & C)
Programme pilote- nouvelle formule pour les Championnats de la ligue NCRRL - B & C At the NCRRL AGM in May, 2004 a new format was approved
in principle for the NCRRL Championships for B & C teams and a committee
was struck to work out the logistics. Below are the key recommendations.
1.Format/ Formule The new Championship tournament format would include
teams at the Novice, Petite, Tween, Junior and Belle age groups, at
the B, C1, and C2 skill levels. The following table will determine how
many teams from each division are invited to participate.
2.Participation / Participation By "invitation only" to ensure 100% attendance. At the conclusion of all league games, the top 3-8 teams, depending on the size of the division, will be invited to participate. The order of final standings will be determined by existing NCRRL rules. All invited teams will be given 48 hours to decide whether they will accept the invitation. If they decline, an invitation will be extended to the next team in order of the final league standings. This process will be continued until the maximum number of teams per division is reached. It is expected that teams will decide quickly as they should have been thinking about this tournament and working towards it for three months. It is also recommended for the purposes of determining the order of the final standings that the point totals for all teams involved be reset to zero after the re-seeding meeting in December regardless of whether there is any team movement within the division. It is hoped that this will allow teams and coaches to concentrate on assessing player skills and building team chemistry during the first half of the year. "Par invitation" seulement pour assurer
une participation à 100%. À la fin du calendrier régulier
de la ligue, les 3 à 8 équipes de tête (dépendant
du nombre d'équipes dans la division) seront invitées
à participer. Le classement final sera déterminé
selon les règlements existants de la ligue NCRRL. 3. Entry Fees/ Frais d'inscription It is recommended that the entry fee for this tournament
be caped at $225.00 per team and that the balance of expenses be picked
up by the NCRRL. 4. Volunteers/ Bénévoles Each association would have to provide some volunteers
to work on a committee to plan this NCRRL Regional Championship event.
The Gatineau Ringette Association has offered to host - the dates will
